Week 7 day 4

Tasks of this day:
Today I was busy in collecting all the evaluation sheets to prepare their results, this job was assigned to me from the raining manager, however I helped him also in uploading some of these evaluation results in the share folder of the training section. Also I did some other usual work like scanning and sending some important documents.

Skills I had used:
I used today my organizing skills, Excel skills and management skills.

Problem I faced
I faced a problem today in finding the old evaluation sheets of different programs that RTA employees attended, however I found that many papers are missing, so I wrote my notice to take it to the manager. Finally, I solved this problem by asking each program organizer to give me all the papers that is related to the program evaluation.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
The most thing I liked her in RTA is that they prefer to employ Emirati people. On the other hand I didn’t like the procedure of refusing un local people to train in the RTA, for example:- today one Iranian student from Sharja University came to the training section to tell them that she want to work in RTA for her work placement but they didn’t accept her.

Week 7 day 3

Tasks of this day:
Today I received the weekly mail of training section, nevertheless I filed the training courses advertisement in a file and I throw all what has nothing to do in training section or un useful training offers. And as usual I did some filing, sending mails and faxing.

Skills I had used:
Organizing skills and management skills.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
the HR Director didn’t approve our manager annual vacation although he didn’t take his annual vacation from 1 year because they have a lot of work to do, in my opinion the HR Director should be fare with her employees and give them their wrights so they can be always motivated in their work.

Recommendations:
I recommend every leader to satisfy their employees so they don’t runaway from them.

Week 7 day 2

Tasks of this day:
today my supervisor is in a training course so he asked me to answer all his phone calls because he believes that I can deal with any situation. Most of the callers were asking about the summer jobs, so I answered all their questions because I have all information about this staff. As I did other work today like working in the new evaluations of different programs.

Skills I had used:
I used my communication skills to communicate with people.

What I like is: Dealing with people is one of my great interests, and here in the training section I got a great chance to deal with people.

Week 7 day 1

Tasks of this day:
Today I called the scholarship students to pick up their RTA insurance cards as well I delivered many of these card to them, moreover, I made a list that contains scholarship student profiles on excel .

Skills I had used:
I used my communication skills and Excel skills.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
Dealing with people is one of my great interests, and here in the training section I got a great chance to deal with people.

What I don’t like:
Some of the scholarship student was complaining about receiving this insurance card very late for example: one of the students say that he should received this card from one year ago.

Recommendations:
I advice training staff to finish their work day by day to avoid unsatisfied from their employees and customers.

Week 7 day 1

Tasks of this day:
Today I was collecting all the evaluation forms to organize them in one file, I showed the manager my work then he asked me to prepare a sheet so each program organizer in the training section can sign In it that the information in the evaluation sheets are right, however I did this successfully. Also I did other daily tasks such as copying some important papers and sending some fax’s to other companies.

Skills I had used:
Excel skills and management skills.

Problems:
I was trying to collect all the evaluation sheets of different training courses and that was a hard job because some papers were missing and other paper s were having more than what is available in attendance sheet, so I asked the employees to give me every thing they have for these previous courses, an I wrote down my notes to take these mistakes to the manager.

Week 6 day 5

Tasks of this day:
today I evaluate two training programs one of them called supervisory skills, however I also sent an email to each of Dubai Women’s college and Sharja Women’s college to confirm that RTA will participate in their employment day in SWC on the 8th of June and in DWC on the 4th of June. I also designed a simple Sign for people to know where to apply for the summer job in the RTA this sign will be held on the help desk of the HR department. I also filed some papers and scanned some others.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:I don’t like that the training staff are using me a lot in sending their important papers to different department.

Skills I had used:
Excel sheets, organizing skills, management skills and designing skills.Work Performance: I'm satisfied with what I am doing. I started using more skills that I learned in e-business management major.

Week 6 day 4

Tasks of this day:
Today I was handing to people their training certificates and I evaluated a training program in the evaluation form that I created before. Also transferred some forms from document into Excel sheet. I also used Photoshop to create a stable header for all the forms that I transfer them into Excel sheet its better than coping the two logo every time with different sizes for each Excel form.

Skills I had used:
Excel skills, creativity skills, management skills and Photoshop skills.

Problems:
I was coping all the time the RTA & Dubai Government logos with different sizes into the excel forms that I create, until I thought I should use my Photoshop skills to solve this problem.

Week 6 day 3

Tasks of this day:
Today I updated some information in the summer job proposal of the RTA, and then I took it to the manager to get it signed. Also I helped the staff to prepare some invoices in the GRP system then I took them to the account section to in cash them. I also designed presentation slides for the HR department. Skills I had used: designing skills, creativity, and my It skills.

Problems:
I was confused at the beginning how to design the slides of the presentation because my supervisor asked me to keep it simple and attractive. Also it should contain the red color and the white color, so it was difficult for me because I don’t like to choose these colors for any presentation but I tried my best and did it.

Recommendations:
RTA use the red color and the white color as their official colors in any document the create, in my opinion they should use different colors because the red color hearts the eyes, I think the red logo is enough.

Week 6 day 2

Tasks of this day:
Today I did today copied other important forms of training sections from word documents to Excel sheet, I sent important fax’s to different training companies. Finally, today I set with Noora from the IT department to watch her while she is working in the RTA website so I can gain some thing from her or to give her my ideas.

Skills I had used:
Excel skills and communication skills.

Week 6 day 1

Tasks of this day:
Today I did multi tasks to do; the first task I did today was calling the DWC business faculty to ask them if they HR students still want to do a workshop for the RTA staff. The second task that I did today was coping some important forms of training sections from word documents to Excel sheet , and this task was given to me by the training manager because he likes my excel work. Finally, I did also some scanning and filleting today.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I really like that my supervisor and the training manager are always admire in my work. Skills I had used: Excel sheets, for example (I did the Formatting, frozen cells, copy different document forms to Excel), and I used my organizing and management skills a lot at the work.

New skills learnt:
I learned today some new things that I can do in Excel like how to fix the margins of the page so it shows all the contact in one page.

My relations with my work Colleagues
I really enjoying the working hours here with the training teem as well as I am enjoying our short brakes together.

Week 5 Day 5

Tasks of this day:
As usual I am working in the training section of the HR department, today I filed the important all the letters and advertisements that training section received during this week from different companies and offices. Also I did what they call follow up I called 3 employees to ask them to bring their training certificates they got to in cash their invoices. Finally, I interviewed Mr. Nader Al Hawari the training manager at the end of the day.

Problems:
Today the person who I supposed to interview her apologized from me when I went to her because she is leaving for urgent issue, I accepted her apologize but I was very upset because of that. Nevertheless I decided to talk to my manger about my situation and ask hem if I can interview him because I believe that working in HR could be one of my career choices for the future, so he accepted my request and I was very pleased with that.

Skills I had used:
I used my communication skills for example: - when I called different people today.

New skills learnt:
I learnt that I should never interview any one at the end of the week, so I have time to deal with any problem that could occur.

Week 5 ay 4

Tasks of this day:
Today I helped the other girl who came for the work placement in organizing some certificates of the employees, and I updated the excel sheet that I created for programs evaluation.

Skills I used: I my excel skills and my critical thinking skills when I updated the excel sheet that I created for programs evaluation, I changed with other employee the way of the calculation in the sheet.

Problems:-
Today I tried to help them but all of them were busy but I did few things that I mentioned above.

Week 5 day 3

Tasks of this day:
Today I didn’t have a lot of work to do, I just send some faxes, I organized the files and I watched the employees while they are working in a part of Oracle system (GRP: a system that includes employees’ information, salary certificates, training leave and other things).

New skills learnt:
I learned how to use GRP system.

Work Performance:
I'm satisfied with what I am doing; I feel that training section is very dynamic section because employees attend the training sessions that other employees from different departments’ attend. I hope that they will allow me to attend one of the sessions that they organize

Week 5 day 2

Tasks of this day:
today I just reviewed the programs evaluations and I read documents of a new section (Knowledge section) in the HR department this new section. And as usual I took some papers to other departments.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I like the manager of the training section in the RTA because he sets with his stuff and share with them his experience and he tell them how did he reached the position of manager. As I noticed he was an assistant manager in Jordan and he learned a lot in this position, later on he was a lecturer in a training company in Jordan, and finally, he got his current job (manager of training section).

New skills learnt:
I learned that every person should have a personal career plan so he can know what to do and how to reach a good position.

Recommendation
I recommend my self to put a career plan for my self for example:- choose which department I want to work in.

Week 5 day 1

Tasks of this day:
Today I evaluated 11 programs in Excel sheet that RTA employees attended depend on their individual evaluation sheets and that took from me very long time because I was counting the result of each person in excel sheet by my self. Moreover, I sent many letter via fax to different companies.

My relations with my work Colleagues:
By this time I know different people in RTA (managers, stuff and office boys, al of them are very friendly. I think these relationships could help me to get a job in the future or at least will help me to get a referee for my CV.

Skills I had used:
Excel skill and I used my organizing and management skills a lot at the work.New skills learnt: today I learned to do network scanning.

Week 4 day 5

Tasks of this day:
First of all, I interviewed Suhail Abdulla Al Ashkar the manager of IT Policy and Strategy Manager in the information Technology Department at the RTA. The interview took from me 40 min only. (For more details read the interview report). Secondly, I went back again to my department and helped them in scanning and coping some necessary papers of the training courses they offer for the employees. Then I entered with the new girl in our department some data in the evaluation sheet that I created in Excel sheet and we finished entering the data in a short time. Also, I set with the person who is responsible of the Scholarships program to ask him general questions about the HR departments they have, I know that they have 7 different sections under HR department but I didn’t know what they do till this day. I think I got very valuable information today.

Problems:
Her in RTA they don’t know what the exact job is for the E-business Management students; they keep saying any job could suite us but not all of course. So I tried to talk to them about my major and how it changes since the best.

Skills I had used:
I used today my communication skills mostly. Always I use my management skill I don’t leave the office until the working hours finish.

Recommendations:
I think my section should think in the idea of working as a group at least two hours per the day so they can finish some of there work faster.

Week 4 day 4

Tasks of this day:
I did very few things today I talked to the manager that I will interview in Thursday, and I checked some data in the Oracl system. Finally, I took some paper to the HR to get them signed.
Problems:
Today I left the work early because I had a job interview at 12:00 pm with Dubai Media Incorporated, so I left the office at 11:15 am and I reached late my interview I apologized from them and RTA because of my Conditions. However, I think I did well in my interview and I liked the job that they offered me in the Purchasing department, it’s a great chance.

Skills I had used:
Today I had the chance to apply some of my interview skills that I learnt from the college, like being confident, where something formal and take all necessary papers with me.

Week 4 day 3

Tasks of this day:
today I helped the new student who joined the training department in organizing the training sheets and it certificates. Also, I helped the employees in training department to find out the invoices of the training courses to in cash them. And I attended a small party that the HR department made for their manager because she won the pries of the best employee.

Problems:
Today the employees were focusing more with the new student they seem to trust her more because they was giving her to check some documents and report in them so I asked her if she need for a help and she agreed so I worked with her and I proved that I am able to do such as things.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I don’t like that employees her in thus section are working mostly individually so they take a long time in some tasks that they should do it as I see in a group.

Skills I had used:
Excel sheets, for example (I did theFormatting, frozen cells, arrange lists alphabetically, and merging cells), and i used my organizing and management skills a lot at the work.

New skills learnt:
Double check my work because unexpected mistakes could be done by me with out feeling.

Work Performance:
I'm satisfy with what I am doing, but I feel that I need challenging work to do.

Week 4 day 2

Tasks of this day:
I added a calculation system in the evaluation sheet that I created before to count the results percentage of the training courses that RTA offer for the employees. Moreover, I helped other employees to photocopy the training certificates and other papers, as I took some of these papers for the other departments to get them signed.

Problems:
The have a very big problem with the parking spaces because of the metro bridges, and I had to park in far places and walk to the main building, also, they don’t have parking covers to protect our cars from the sun heat.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I don’t like that I have to sign in bouncing card and attendance sheet in HR Department, in my opinion it just waste of time.New skillsI develop my time management skills and I develop my mathematical skills because I made a calculation system for the training courses which I mention it before.Work PerformanceI feel that I need to improve the speed of my work to finish the tasks they give me faster.

Recommendation:
I advice RTA to provide more parking spaces for the employee by build a parking building to solve this problem.

Week 4 day 1

Tasks of this day:
Today we didn’t have a lot of work to do, but as usual I entered some data on excel sheet. I helped the employee who is responsible of the scholarships to count the number of years that is required from one of the scholarship members.Problems I facedI didn’t face any problem today but new student from Sharja Women’s College joined the training department to complete do her work placement and this is a big challenge for me to prove that Dubai Women’s College are the best even though the new girl has a bachelor degree.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
Here in RTA they don’t have a lunch break which made us to leave a side and eat. However, they don’t good food so most of time I don’t eat during the working hours.In addition, what I like mostly in RTA they provide golf cars for employees and customers to make the movement from building to other easier.

New skills
they showed me today how to make summary certificate for the employees by using the oracle system. Also, I learned how to be advance user in excel for example: they tech me how to fix the sizes of the words to make it one sheet.

Work Performance
I feel that I need to improve the speed of my work to finish the tasks they give me faster.

Week 3 day 5

Tasks of this week:
Today we didn’t have a lot of work to do and the employees of the training department are busy in their own work so I asked them how I could help them today, so they give me evaluation sheets of different programs of this week to write these information in excel sheet that I created yesterday. Also, I checked the format of the scholarships report.

Problems I faced
I didn’t face any problem today because I know how to deal with people around me I listen to them I do my best when they ask to do something.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
Here in the training department they use excel program a lot to organize in the information of the training courses. Also they insert people information in it for example they prepare for each training session excel sheet to see who got the certificates of this course and who didn’t, and I really get very bored of this process.

In addition, what I like mostly in my department is that the employees are very friendly and cooperative with each other. Also I like the informal relationship that they have for example: - yesterday the HR manager got a pries of the best employee, and all the employees in the HR celebrated this happy event. Another example today the HR department organized a breakfast meals the HR works, however I attended this breakfast gathering it was very nice.

New skills
I learned today how to fill the evaluation sheets that I created for the RTA programs employees attend. Moreover, they show me how to use OLM system that is linked to GRP system; in this system they insert people information who attended different training courses.

Work Performance
I think everything is good so far in my work performance, there are no complaints about me. Also my supervisor trusts me very much and he decided to give me his computer password so I can check his emails while he is outside the country next week to do what is required from us.

Recommendations
I recommend all the college to do such as breakfast event for all the DWC stuff and students to report in it in the newspaper or television I think this a great idea that the college could do and report in it, nevertheless, the main idea of this event is to promote the friendly environment that DWC offer for to the students.

Week 3 day 4

Tasks of this week:
As usual I am working in the training department; this day was busy day because my supervisor is travelling next week on Saturday, so we are trying to finish as much as we can from his work. First of all, I organized with him his papers, I took other papers to training manager to get them signed and I sent some necessary fax's about training programs to the right people to deal with these papers. In addition, my manager Mr. Nader gave me assign paper of the training programs and he asked me to create a similar format in excel sheet by the end of the day, so he can give it the next day to the employees to right in it the feedback results of each training program, however I finished creating this sheet by 12:30 am and I helped my supervisor to find out the result of the programs that he is responsible of, and this took from me a long time because I was writing all people suggestion and counting how many people choose each answer.

Problems I faced
I didn’t face a problem today at my work but I talked with my supervisor about taking me to e-services in the IT department for two weeks at lest because I feel this department can do a lot with my major e-business management, also I think I will learn something that could be new for me, he promised me to take me their in my last week because they need me a lot in the current time.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I don’t like that every one in training section depend on me in coping their papers and taking them to the right place I feel that they are lazy in doing such as things, its not a big problem for me but I don’t like that at all because all of them are calling me just to do for them these small things that don’t teach me any thing.

New skills
Today I had the chance to practice time management skills because the give me a deadline for the excel sheet that had to create. And I used my IT skills in creating this sheet.
Work Performance
I feel that I am doing well because the training manager asked me if I am interested to join them after I graduate as well as other employees in my section. Also I feel that I am a hard worker who tries to reflect a good image of DWC students.

Recommendations
I recommend DWC in the future to ask the RTA to send the student to the right departments that could suit their studding level or major.

Week 3 day 3:

Tasks of this week:
Fiirstly, I worked in a team with Ftma and Iman from the training department in chking and wrting the employess name who got a certificate from the training sessions they attended. Secondly, I checked a list of people who register and did not register in the Arabic training program in order to make a list of people who will be attending the course. Thirdly, I attended a meeting of the training section, they were voting for the best three employees in each department, section and orgnazation

Problems I faced
Today one of my letters that I created before has been rejacted by the HR manager because I forgot to write the full name of my supervisour I felt very sorry of that but I lernt to check my work twive before handing it to any one, nevertheless i had a packup of this letter in my laptop so just opend it and wrote my suprevisour name where it should be and send it again to the HR.
Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I don’t like some times the routin of the work that I am doing so I asked them to give some thing new or to learn. So they promise me to teach me how to use the IT system in the RTA.

New skills
I used today my comunication skills in communicating with the managers. As I used my team working skills when I worked with my colleagues Fatam and Iman as I mentioned above. However, I feel that I am using the basic skills that I have in computing such as using emails, and creatinf excel sheet for deffirent things.

Work Performance
I am doing all what they are asking me without any doutpt; I feel all of them are satisfued by the level of my work.

Recommendations
I recommend DWC in the future to ask the RTA to send the student to the right departments that could suit their studding level or major.

Week 3 day 2:

Tasks of this week:
This week I will be also in the training department, today was normal day I didn’t have a lot of work to do for example:- I sent three fax's to different companies, I made two calls in order to clear some information that is not clear from a company that will provide RTA a course of first aid and I called some students to check with them when they will be coming to the RTA for their work placement, and I attended a voting session in my department; they was voting for the best employee each of them was choosing three persons and they were writing it in excel sheet in order to send it to other departments to vote also. Finally, I met my supervisor today at RTA because he was coming to meet my supervisor at work, however I had a chance to talked to him about my situation in RTA and tell him what I am doing exactly.

Problems I faced
Today I found that I did a mistake on a letter that I wrote it before; I forgot to write my supervisor name in it, it was rejected because of that. He was upset because he don’t have a recover of that letter as a soft copy but I solved this problem very easily because I have it as a soft copy in my laptop so we fix it and re send it to the manager. By now I feel that I am getting better in solving problems.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I like that my supervisor and understand that I want to learn new things and he promised me to teach me some thing new in the coming days for example he told that they will allow me to teach me how to use RTA system.

Recommendations
I recommend my self to be patient with the place that I am working in because I won't to reflect a good impression of my self.

However, I will be preparing the question this week for each of them, and I might Mr, Abdulla the IT manager.

WEEK 2 " Day 5"

Tasks of this week and problems I faced:
I did some filling, I sent a fax to Sharja University, and I helped my supervisor in attaching some training offer letters together to choose which company are the best. Also I created attendance sheet and my supervisor help in this (I changed it twice). Finally, I helped my manger in chinking that each employee in the RTA will go out only once in April for one training course not two. And I helped Fatima from the same department in choking that we wrote down all the names of the people who got training certificates in Excel sheet.

Also, I have been asked also to call the training center that I called them in the first day of my work placement to make sure that the training session will be on time as we asked them so I did that successfully.

The only problem that I had that I am very sick and it was very hard to work in this situation but I showed hem that I am ready to work when ever it needs.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I like that employee’s calibrate each other birthday and they gave me from the cake they bought for the party.

Recommendations
I recommend my self to be patient under any stress I might face.

Week 2 "Day 4"

Tasks of this week and problems I faced:
I translated hands in training sheet from Arabic to English because the monitor of the girl who came fro Zayed University to work with us in the work placement asked my supervisor for official letter and they don’t have in English so he just said to me this is your work do every thing is required it was a challenge , but I started with translating the sheet from Arabic to English then I got the fax number from the girl then I printed the sheet for my supervisor to sing them and finally I sent it by fax to Zayed University on the fax number she gave me.
I have been asked also to call the training center that I called them in the first day of my work placement to make sure that the training session will be on time as we asked them so I did that successfully. In general I think I am doing well and I don’t think I have had any problems yet.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I like that my supervisor trust me in every thing I do because he believe that DWC students are very good.

New Skills:
By this time I am experienced in official letters an d sending them to other department in RTA or outside RTA.

week2 "Day 3"

Tasks of this week and problems I faced:
I wrote a letters for different training organizations asking them to cooperate and organize for RTA employees training sessions, however my supervisor was telling me what to write in these letters and I was typing in the same time that I am listing to him. Also I did a filing for work placement documents they have. And I was taking some documents to the training department manager to sign them then I send it to the right department.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I didn’t like that I not learning some thing new I just practicing the skills that I learned in DWC, and I think in RTA I can’t practice my English very much because they use Arabic language mostly.

New Skills:
I feel that I am developing my typing skills because I listen to my supervisor and write done what he say in the letters

week2 " Day 2"

Tasks of this week and problems I faced:

I helped the girls of my department in cleaning the pace from old preparers and folders and other unnecessary stuff that was making crowded in the place, and that took a time from us.
I also went with one of the girls to collect the attendance sheet of one of the training sections that RTA employees is doing, and the problem was the girl who is with are very shy to knock the door an ask for the sheet I told her Iet me do it, and I did it successfully it was very easy process because in DWC we learned that in work we have to be strong.

Things I like and I don’t like in my work placement:
I think I didn’t like today's work because I believe that they should do this every month not every 6 months because dust is some thing hurts people. And today I found a lot of dust on the files and that allergy in my face and hand.

New Skills:

I think today I just used my confidante and communication skills
Recommendations
I recommended the department that I am working in to do the cleaning every month at lest once, so they can see what they need or don’t need and throw it.

Week2 "Day 1"

I am still the training department this week as I will be in for the whole coming two months.

Tasks of this week and problems I faced:

I have been asked to write many official letters for a training centers to ask them for a training sections for RTA employees and that was a small problem that I faced because it have been a long time since I wrote official Arabic letter to some one, however I tried my best and I did all what I remembered and guess what happened after I finish I showed it for my supervisor he thanked me because I did it in a right way.

Secondly, my supervisor needed to sent a recruitment letter to a person in America and the fax in the training department didn’t have a international line to send this letter, so he asked me to go to another department and asked them if I can sent this letter from their machine, but the employees from the other department told me no one have such as line but I can find it in the chairman office, so I went back to my supervisor and he told me its hard to deal with the employees their and I told him I can go and use my communication skills there, finally I did the process successfully.

In general I feel very proud of DWC because I feel I know practiced mostly the important skills their like: - basic English skills, communication skills and I learned hoe to be confidante in front of people.

My relations with my work Colleagues:

I think I am getting very will with every one in my department because I know all of them and I help them all when they need me, and my supervisor is flexible with that. I really like the employees at my workplace they are very friendly.

Things I like in my work placement:

I like the activities and the event they do in the RTA organizations, I participated today in free medical chuck up activity that’s made by city hospital for RTA employees it was a chuck up for blood pressure, sugar and body fitness. However my result was very good but they told me that I am under weight.

New Skills:

I don’t think that I learned something new today, but I developed my communication skills.
Recommendations:
I think I still have many skills that I didn't use yet and I think I should try to use them at my work for example: I want to give them an idea that they will benefit from it but I am still thinking on it.

In the next day in the RTA

The Fifth day in the RTA & The Tasks that assigned to me:

In the fifth day of work placement my director asked me to check 2008 summer program proposal and action plan to make some changes in it and to add in it, so I reviewed every thing and I suggested some changes as I found some typing mistakes in the proposal and I told him about them. In the next step I wrote some notes from him to add them in the proposal and the action plan, then I stared writing and changing on them. However, I think that we will send these documents to the RTA chairman on Sunday. Also I have been asked to translate English letter to Arabic letter in this day.

I can say in this day I feel that I improved mu typing skills, as I used my writing skills in the action plan and the proposal however I am very familiar with writing the action plan and the proposal because I did them for many projects at the college. Also, I used my translation skill.

Things that I liked & I didn’t like in this work placement:

I like the variety of work that I did today, and I think that training department are so close to my major because they are doing similar things that I used to do at my college life.

The Next day in the RTA & The Tasks that assigned to me:

In the fourth day of my work placement I wrote two letters for different departments about some training programs that we are offering them but I didn’t sent them my director sent them via the email to the right departments. As I have been asked to go around and check the work placement girls performance direct from their managers, and I was collecting their full names for the certificates that will be given us from the RTA in the end of our work experience. Moreover, I was writing in this day other two emails to different departments asking them to except some girls from Sharja University to work with them in June. In this day I learned how to write formal letters in Arabic and English and I used some of my management skills.

Things that I liked & I didn’t like in this work placement:
In this day I think I feel I am a friend of every one in my department and this make me patient with all this work that I have to do.

About my Third day

About my Third day in the RTA & the Tasks that assigned to me:

The Third day was not busy as the previous days I just helped my director in calling Sharja University to understand from them what they want from us because they didn’t send a clear letter to the training department. Also, I was taking some prepares from my department to the main HR department to get them signed. Also, I was helping another employee in my department her name is Eman in inserting some details in Excel about employees training certificates. Moreover, my director was trying to find a place for some girls who didn’t feel comfortable with their first places they worked in so he asked me to go with him to apposite building that is part from RTA organization to find them pace their so I went with him to the train department and we solve the problem. In this day I improved my typing skills and computing skills in using Excel program.

Things that I liked & I didn’t like in this work placement:

In this day I loved moving around the department to get more familiar with the RTA building. In addition, I don’t think that I faced in this day any problems.

The second day in my work placement

About my Second day in the RTA & The Tasks that assigned to me:

The second day was also very busy because I started from the early morning my work as soon as I arrived, I was completing the list that they gave me in the first day, then the manager of the training department asked to see me with one of the department employees to clear for me which details he needs from the excel sheet that I created. nevertheless I managed to finish this data in the end of the day. One more thing they gave me a folder that contains every thing about RTA like Mission, Vision and other details to read it at home to learn more about RTA, and I did.

Things that I liked & I didn’t like in this work placement:

In this day I liked that the employees started to treat me as employee from their department. On the other hand, I didn’t like the type of work that they gave me because it was easy and some thing that I use to do, not a new thing, however I didn’t say any word about that because I believe they will give me in the coming days new tasks to do which is more exciting and I can gain from them new skills or improve some skills that I already have.

My First Day in The work placement

About my first day in the RTA and the department I am working in:
RTA is the place where I chosen to work in for my work placement, however today date is 12th April 2009 it’s the first day in my work placement. The first day was very busy day because I attended a presentation that is prepared for me and with other 20 students from my college by the RTA stuff. After the presentation my direct supervisor took me to the training department that I will be working in for 2 months, my department contains 9 people each of them are responsible about different things in RTA employees trainings. However, training department is divided into two sections the first section is admin the second section is technical and as I noticed the department it self is a section from the HR department.

Tasks I did in the first day and some skills that helped me in my work:
The first task that I was assigned to do is to call a training company in order to cooperate with them and organize first aid course for a number of RTA staff. For that I used my communication skills and I called training company and I asked them what is required for this course and they told me they just need official letter with all details such as number of employees who will take the course, type of course that is needed and other details, so I told my director about the all requirement then I helped him in preparing the official letter for them. The second task that assigned to me is insert a list of names and some details about employees training courses in Excel sheet, so I used my skills in Excel sheet and I created a table to insert the details that I have but it was very long list so I only managed to finished half of it until the end of the day.

Things that I liked in this work placement:
I really liked that all the employees in the training department are very happy to teach me their work, and they all of them are friendly and kind. However, I think I still need to know more about the RTA working environment. And I liked that every thing went smoothly in the first day without any problems. Finally, I can say that I am looking forward to gain some new skills from this work experience.
